American Canoe Associations-Legends of PaddlingGeneral - Oct 27, 2015
Take a look back through paddling history, 20 years back, at the receipients of the American Canoe Association's (ACA) "Legends of Paddling." As explained by the ACA on their website, "The award is presented to one or more individuals each year for their legendary contributions to paddlesporst. Recipients of this prestigious award will be inducted into the ACA Paddlesport Hall of Fame." This year Kent Ford joined the esteemed list of names, an honor well deserved for his amazing work as pioneer in taking kayak instruction to video as well as also being an accomplished paddler. (A member of USA Canoe and Kayak from 1977 to 1983 and twice a C1 World Champion and a leading coach at some the nations top paddling schools.)
(Kent Ford (R) Introduced by former Olympic coach and 2005 Legend, Bill Endicott.)
Historians of our sport should enjoy scrolling through the list and seeing some of the great women and men that have been honored with this award. Young paddlers should take note of the names that helped to pave the path fro paddlesports, so we can enjoy the sport that we love today. Congrats to you Ken and thank you for all you have done for the sport.
