What is a Factory Second? Factory seconds are structurally sound paddles with minor cosmetic issues, including scratches, porosity, fading, irregularities, and color variation. Most of these imperfections will be found on the blades. Due to constantly shifting inventory, we cannot offer detailed information or photos concerning the condition of a specific paddle. We offer our standard 1-year warranty and 30-day return policy on these cosmetically blemished models.

FEATURES
With decades of design experience, we saw a need to innovate blade shape. Our longer, rectangular, slender design is easier on the body with a more gentle catch. Higher cadence and less fatigue without sacrificing blade size and power.
The volume of a buoyant carbon blade creates an exceedingly light feel. that pops the blade from the water for effortless forward strokes and confident bracing.
A smooth back face is quiet and helps to make linking turning strokes easy.
Our Versatile paddles have a 10-degree shaft-to-blade offset. Designed to keep the blade more vertical through the power phase, it benefits your forward paddling, but still gives the surfer a good compromise in the waves.
Dihedral, the ridge down the middle of the power face, allows for smooth and stable forward paddling. A core philosophy for Werner.
With decades of experience in blade lamination, our edge guard specific to our Ultimate Versatile use blades is designed to be super thin, creating a knife like feel in and out of the water. Impact and abrasion resistant for these models intended usage.
Mid-sized blade suits those wanting to limit exertion and to those of smaller to mid-size stature.
Countless hours of testing developed an optimized flex and strength. With our attention to detail and full carbon construction you feel comfort all day, all year, without sacrificing power or confidence.

Does It All, But The Cable Isn't Forever
"Lightweight and travel ready. Only issue is the cable snapped after 5 years (probably should have rinsed it more). Still 5 stars since this paddle has traveled by plane, bus, and rooftop to oceans, rivers, and lakes across Eastern Europe and Africa."

Favorite River Paddle
"The Trance 85 is officially my new favorite paddle. I used to love the Legend, but the Trance has officially won my heart! As a professional Whitewater Stand Up Paddle athlete, I mostly use this paddle on rivers and in rapids. I love how lightweight it is. It literally feels like I'm paddling with a feather. I even found that my cadence got faster because I can get the paddle out of the water with more ease and grace. When I first started paddling, I thought you needed to have a wide blade in order to go faster or to help you brace in rapids. Unfortunately, this lead to shoulder problems and a frustration of not feeling like I could keep up in races. But, after doing a few ACA SUP Courses, I learned that a heavier paddle with a wider blade is not better. You want a light paddle and a narrow blade so you can recover quickly and spend as little time in the water as possible. Now that I've switched over to Werner, my shoulders are happier and I'm faster on the river than ever. Overall, this paddle does it all for me and I couldn't be happier with it's performance! Thanks Werner for making such good paddle for rivers, lakes and oceans! I'm TEAM WERNER for life!"
