Unbelievably light!!! Very precise fit
"Unbelievably light!!! Very precise fit when you put it together! I would highly recommend; I feel like you get what you pay for!!"
With 50 years in the making, we are honored to have the Ovation carry on. In honor of the man who started it all, the Werner Sr. Edition Ovation is the culmination of decades of experience on the water and in the R&D room, working with composite materials and construction. The feeling on the water is fitting of the name. The design and construction of the Ovation make it far and away our best paddling low-angle touring model; however, that does come with reduced strength. Consider your expectations of this model, and if more rugged paddling and the high potential for rescue situations are in your future, consider our Kalliste model.

"I like to paddle every day, including a once a week 'long' paddle. I use a Cyprus for my long paddle. The following day I'm really beat, so I use the Ovation for a very comfortable, relaxing paddle. Excellent paddle. (over 10 years of use, so far)"
"After a rather severe shoulder rotator cuff injury, I thought I was done with kayaking. After physiotherapy and many hours of hard work I was able to build up to about 50% of my former strength. I tried paddling again and found that I could only paddle for 20 minutes or so with my old conventional paddle. I borrowed my wife’s Cypress paddle which much improved my performance. I checked out the website and discovered a lighter version, the Ovation and ordered one. I just returned from a kayak tour where we would paddle for up to 21 km at a fairly brisk pace and I had no problem keeping up. The Ovation paddle has held up flawlessly. I have used it for bracing on rocks, I have hit things with it and it seems to be plenty strong enough as well as being super light. Thank you for this beautiful piece of engineering artwork."
"I have been using a Kalliste for years and putting in 15-20 km (9-13 miles) twice a week in mostly coastal waters and flat rivers. I found an Ovation on sale and bought it on impulse. The Kalliste is light but the Ovation feels in another league. Initially I didn't like the weightlessness as it seemed to lack feel especially in the initial plant and catch. But this soon changed to a great appreciation for the effortlessness as the miles piled up. It seems fragile but I think it stands up well to touring but I would not recommend it over areas where the paddle may contact objects in the water eg rocks. submerged branches. Fit of the two shafts together is exemplary with no play at all, to the point that separating it actually is too difficult. Truly deserving of its flagship status."
