Nice blades, cheap ferrule system
"I'm a river guide and I've been using the two-piece Tybee paddle for several years. I was really disappointed to receive this paddle with a much cheaper ferrule system. My Tybee paddle has a fully adjustable flush mount system, this Rio's system is just as bad as the cheapest paddles you'll find at Walmart. I don't see this spring lasting. I had to pull it out with my fingers and spread the V apart even more because it didn't work when I received it. It's just loose inside the shaft. The two holes drilled in the shaft don't seem to offset to any specific angles. One's nearly flush and the other ones over 45°. The blade seems sturdy, but I thought a whitewater paddle would be better constructed than a touring paddle, kind of a letdown."
