Kalliste
"I’ve been using the Werner Kalliste for a while now, and honestly, it’s the best paddle I’ve ever owned. Right out of the box, you can tell this thing is premium — it’s insanely lightweight thanks to the carbon shaft and foam-core blades, and it just feels effortless in the water. What really surprised me was how buoyant the blades are. They almost “pop” out of the water at the end of each stroke, which makes long-distance paddling way less tiring. I do mostly low-angle touring, and the blade shape is perfect — smooth, flutter-free strokes and super quiet. It just glides."

"This is my wife’s new paddle, and after taking it for a test drive, it’s absolutely amazing! Minimal swing weight, comfortable grip, easy to link strokes on the fly, and best of all…. The foam core has it nearly leaping out of the water, making your strokes effortless. My wife took it on it’s 10 mile, inaugural paddle, this morning and couldn’t stop raving. Definitely getting a standard sized grip for myself!"

The Kaliste
"My wife and I got into kayaking just over a year ago. Bought ourselves a Delta 14' and 17'. Started out with the basic pelican paddles. And then in the fall of 2022 I purchased a carbon shafted paddle for my wife from Amazon. What a weight difference, and my wife was now keeping up with my boat. This convinced me everything that they said about a full carbon paddle. I watched a Youtube video, it was a russian fellow, and he proceeded to demonstrate just how tough it was to destroy a Werner Camano paddle. After seeing that I was convinced. Bought my wife the Werner Athena model, and man she was a rocket on the water AND her shoulders never got sore anymore. I went this spring and bought myself the Werner Kaliste, and our kayaking trips are phenominal now as we can paddle for hours on end and never have sore muscles anymore. These paddles are 1/3 the weight of a normal aluminum paddle. They are tough as stones, easy to take care of, and their proprietary ferul locking system allows for an offset your didnt even know would help you paddle. An absolute fantastic product by an absolute fantastic local company, well a close neighbour to us Canadians, lol. If you are considering buying one, and enjoy kayaking, trust me you will not regret this purchase, regardless of what model you choose."

Superior Blade Design
"A Werner Camano 240cm carbon with fiberglass blade was my 1st quality paddle. Used for two seasons, I bought a 2nd one for my sister when she she preferred it. When I bought a Kalliste, she again preferred it, so I bought one for her. The Camano is a good value. The weight difference of a few ounces, is most notable in the swing weight, which is noticed most apparent on longer trips and when fatigue starts to degrade sound paddling technique. The most noteworth feature is the blade design. The asymmetric blade minimizes torque around the axis of the shaft that fatigues the wrists, dihedral and the smooth back allow the blade to slice in and out of the water quietly to deliver flutter free strokes, even when pushed. I found that the Kalliste can consistently deliver .3 mph higher maximum output under the same conditions than the Camano. If price is an issue, the Camano is a great alternative. Werner also makes a lighter version of the Kalliste, but they add a disclaimer that weigh reduction is at the expense of strength. My Kalliste 240 cm went back for warranty repair (it wouldn't come apart, but my shop returned it to Werner for repair, free of any charges). While it was away, I couldn't stand paddling without it, so I bought a new one in 250 cm length. I see no difference in speed between the 240 and 250 cm, but I prefer the additional length, which allows a wider grip to open the chest and make breathing easier when effort becomes more aneorobic."

An Incredible High-Performance Paddle!
"I have logged over 5,000 miles using Werner’s Kalliste paddles. I have solo paddled across Lake Michigan six times, Lake Superior once, compete in races, and often paddle 50 to 70 miles a day on many of the most scenic rivers across the Upper Midwest. I also frequently take shorter trips requiring my paddling upstream against a swift flowing current. Werner’s lightweight, smooth, quiet entry, Kalliste paddle provides for a pleasant and near tireless effort. Its exceptional design and construction makes for an efficient, worry-free paddle, which is critical when 20 - 30 miles from land where any failure could prove catastrophic. For the best paddle for recreation, sport, or setting world-records, I highly recommend Werner and their Kalliste model paddle. It’s the only choice for me. ★★★★★"

The Ultimate Paddle
"I've paddled over 4,000 miles using Kalliste paddles, and nothing else compares. From the smooth, quiet entry and exit from the water with each stroke, to the light weight that becomes very noticeable after 15 miles of paddling, just about every detail on the Kalliste is done perfectly. I wish Werner could invent a connection that wouldn't wear with a few thousand miles of use, but I don't know of any suitable materials that would make that possible. For a modest fee Werner can replace the connection on your trusty paddle when it's time. If you enjoy paddling longer distances, the Kalliste is a worth-while investment that will increase your paddling enjoyment. Strong, forgiving and light in the hands, the Kalliste is the one paddle I will always want with me on the water."

Ecstatic with my new paddle
"I just received my new Kalliste and headed out to Canyon Lake (my home paddle outside Phoenix, AZ). WOW!!! Now I have paddled with a Werner high angle carbon paddle for a few years, so I did have a very nice paddle. But I am older now (70) and have increasingly achy shoulders. The Kalliste is a whole new ballgame. Excellent balance, lightness and feel...the ‘feel’ of the shaft in my hands and blades through the water is just extraordinary. It is a fantastic work of art! Now if I can just keep it away from my wife (she will get my old carbon paddle after ‘suffering’ with an older Werner fiberglass for years (still a very nice paddle as well!) Thanks for an incredible paddle."
